There are a few words I can use to describe Michael Jackson. He was a hero, a humanitarian, an innovator, and an icon. The Death Of Michael Jackson is an unfathomable loss to the entertainment industry, his fans, and the world. Like Elvis and John Lennon before him, there will never be another person like him and his mark on the world is a legacy that will never die. Sleep well, Michael. Long live "The King Of Pop".

Yesterday was one of the saddest days in the history of comedy.  One of our world's greatest heroes, George Carlin has died.  He was an amazing man with so much insight on a variety of subjects such as airline etiquette, sexual escapades, and of course the english language.  He was host to a number of talk shows, comedy hours, and variety shows such as The Tonight Show.

He went on many comedy tours too, making people around the country smile as he traveled.  Carlin was also an accomplished author writing three books based on his comedy routines, Brain Droppings, Napalm and Silly Putty, and When Will Jesus Bring The Porkchops?

Carlin was not just a host, a comedian, and an author.  He was also an actor, appearing in many TV shows and movies such as the U.S. version of Shiny Time Station after Ringo Starr's departure and a few of Kevin Smith's Viewaskewniverse films such Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Dogma as well as another more serious comedy by Kevin Smith, Jersey Girl.

"Take a fuckin chance!!"--George Carlin (1937-2008)

He will be missed.

Lates,
Andy ^_^

...I'm still alive!! ^_^ I've just been very busy over the last few months and I haven't had the time to produce any work that I deem worthy of recognition on DA.  I have a surprise coming up that I worked on almost a month ago as well as a free form project that I would love to brain storm for and begin this summer.  I hope I am inspired to create something wonderful in the next few months.~Andy

This is a KoRn survey, only people that know KoRn well will be able to do this.

What is your favorite KoRn album, including Unplugged?

Life Is Peachy because it is nothing but that raw, underground KoRn sound that you don't hear anymore. "Evolution" off of "Untitled" sounds too mainstream. Same goes for "See You On The Other Side". There hasn't truly been a good album since "Take A Look In The Mirror".

Who is your favorite member?

That would be like asking which of your kids you like the most. I'm partial to Jon because he is the essence of KoRn followed by Munky because he is the most devoted member of the band having never pursued another side project besides KoRn itself.

What is your favorite song?

Right now (Ha! That's a good one, too), it's probably "Hollow Life". It has a truly eerie and haunting melody further amplified by Jon's amazing lyrics and vocals. My true favorite will always be the first song and video of KoRn's that I ever saw, "Freak On A Leash". Plus, you can't beat the scat part lovingly crafted by Jon. That kind of wild banter takes talent.

Which is your favorite KoRn DVD?

The only one I own, "Deuce". It documents the best part of KoRn's career prior to the release of "Untouchables". It includes the original biographical documentary, "Who Then Now?", all the music videos from "KoRn" to "Issues", and lots of other juicy tidbits and even some humor of KoRn just passing the time in their daily lives. I will warn you, unless you know this already, the menu on this DVD sucks. Just hope to god you have a "Go To" or a "Display" button on your remote. It'll make it sooooo much easier to watch anything you want without trying to navigate the cumbersome menu system. Other then that it rocks.

Which nickname is your favorite?

A tie between Munky and Fieldy. Munky's stems from his monkey-like toes and Fieldy's originates from "Fieldy Snuts" or "Feel These Nuts". If you watch WTN, the story of how Fieldy got his nickname is further explained.

Which is your favorite Video?

Another toughy. Probably a tie between "Got The Life", "Freak On A Leash", and "Here To Stay".

What would you do if you became the new guitar player for KoRn?

Probably party hard and drink all their beer like Head used to.

Do you like the old school KoRn or the new KoRn music?

Definitely Old. Everything prior to "Issues".

Do you listen to KoRn everyday?

Probably.

How many KoRn posters do you have?

None :-(

How many KoRn concerts have you been to?

None -_-

What song sounds best to you performed live by them?
Probably "Blind" from the Woodstock '99 show. Jon screams "ARE YOU READY?!" and the crowd goes fucking nuts.

Are you mad at Head for leaving the band or do you think it was the right thing?

No, because I too am a Christian and I think it was something he needed to do to better himself. Not because he didn't love the band anymore, not because he heard his young daughter singing "A.D.I.D.A.S.", but because he was addicted to crystal meth and he had also been an alcoholic even before that. Even though he loved his brothers in KoRn, he needed to go be with his family and really find himself. And if God was his answer, then so be it.

If you were in KoRn what would you want your nickname to be?

Probably "Drewsy" or "Andryn".

What would you want their new albums name to be?

"Bad Moon Smiling" or "Redemption"

How many KoRn albums do you have?

Only two (Follow The Leader and Life Is Peachy) but I'd love to have more. I have a lot of stuff on my mp3 player that I downloaded.

Do you wear KoRn merch?

No, but it would be nice to have a KoRn shirt or two.

If you got stranded on an island, and you only had one KoRn album which album would you want it to be?

Life Is Peachy. I think it would be fun to sing along and perform your own version of "Twist" at the top of your lungs in the middle of nowhere.

What would you do if KoRn broke up as a band?

Mourn the loss and try to remember all the good times as I listen to their entire back catalog including the mainstream stuff.

Do you think their music is a bad influence on teens?

Absolutely not. What KoRn does is play music and music is art. Art is a great way for teens to express themselves whether it be through drawing and painting or writing and performing music. KoRn is not the anti-christ like parents, schools, and even some religious groups want you to believe.

If you ever got a KoRn tattoo, what would it say?

It would probably be the KoRn logo or a gray-scale portrait of Jon screaming into the Heavy Metal Sex Machine mic stand.

If you already have a KoRn tattoo, how many? and what does it/they say?

I only have one tattoo and its not a KoRn tattoo but it has some other implicit meaning.

Do your friends like KoRn?

My cousin loves KoRn almost as much as I do and I had some friends in high school that liked KoRn and a few other metal acts like Sevendust, Mudvayne, and Slipknot.

Does your family like KoRn?

Hell no. They listen to a lot of mainstream Top 40's music, country, and Christian rock.

Are you obsessed with KoRn or do you just like a specific song by them?

I have loved KoRn since I heard "Freak On A Leash" in 7th grade.

How long have you been listening to KoRn?

Since I was 13. I'll be 22 in November.

How did you get to know about KoRn?

I just heard them on a local (now defunct) rock station playing some new music from a band called "KoRn". I thought "Hmmm...this could be good..." It was probably the best thing I'd ever heard. Then a week later I saw the video for the song I heard, "Freak On A Leash" on MTV's TRL (back when MTV used to play videos). I was truly hooked but I couldn't buy any albums because my family didn't think I should be listening to such explicit and violent music. I wouldn't actually own a KoRn album for another year when I was allowed to buy a "Clean" version of "Issues". It was terrible and I ended up selling it. I think when I turned 17, my fam stopped caring so much even though they still didn't like it. I wouldn't own any "real" KoRn albums until I got to college and bought them from a used music shop. I only have two albums but since I started collecting Bjork (yeah, I know...completely different music...) albums and found those two albums that I mentioned before in a box from college my interest has piqued and now I plan on eventually getting every album. Much love for KoRn with or without David and Head. ^_^

This is the last question and its going to be a tough one.

If you could take out any member and replace them with yourself which would it be?

Never. If anything, I'd do everything in my power to reunite Head and David to form the original lineup. It would be an honor to be in KoRn but it would be a travesty because I love them too much and would never change anything about them. :-D
